Toronto As A City
Toronto is the largest city in Canada by population. It is perhaps the most famous city in Canada, and many people outside of the country are under the understandable belief that it’s the capital of the country. That said, there are plenty of things to do outside and enjoy the great weather. If you are in the Toronto area and want to take advantage of its beautiful Dfa climate, here are some activities you can try out.
Go On A Boat Cruise
Being a huge city next to one of the Great Lakes, Toronto will naturally have plenty of boat cruises. Toronto Boat Tours, The Tall Ship Kajama, City Cruises Toronto, and many more companies offer tours. Depending on the location you want to tour, your price range, length you want, and type of boat you want to be on, you have a variety of options.
Kayak Or Go Row Boating
Staying near the water, maybe you’d like to stay in a smaller area and navigate around yourself, having control of where you go. If that’s the case, you can go kayaking or row boating, where you are the one in control, as long as you don’t mind being limited to a much smaller area. Again, there are plenty of companies offering these services, each with their own pros and cons.
Go To A Beach
Let’s say you want the benefits of being by the lake, but still want to remain on land. Luckily, Toronto has plenty of beaches. Beaches in Toronto are supervised for much of the summer. Sunnyside Beach, Woodbine Beach, Centre Island Beach, and more are all available. Each of these again has its own strengths, but if you like beaches, you should easily be able to find one that you like.
Explore The Toronto Islands
This group of 15 islands, the largest of which is called Centre Island, has plenty of bike trails, a fire pit, plenty of picnic spots, a disc golf course, and a beach. Many of the other islands also have similar attractions, making this a beautiful place to take your family for a nice afternoon.
Take A Guided Tour
Being one of the most famous cities in the world, Toronto is going to have plenty of historic places, and there are tons of potential tours that can be taken. Historical and urban tours are all over the city, and let you see plenty of these places. Architectural tours will let you see some of the most impressive engineering in the city. There are also over 45 cultural tours, allowing you to experience the city’s history in another way.
Explore The Scarborough Bluffs
While there are plenty of hikes you can take, if you want to spend an entire afternoon on a hike, you can walk the Scarborough Bluffs. This 15-km-long geological feature was formed by the accumulation of sedimentary deposits over 12,000 years ago. It passes through several parks and reaches a height of 90 meters, offering a great view.
Attend A Festival
Festivals are all over Toronto and are held at all times of year. Depending on when you visit, you might be able to attend Summerlicious, Winterlicious, Canada Day Festivals, New Year’s Festivals, Indigenous Festivals, Pride Festivals, and more.
Attend The Metro Toronto Zoo
Do you like animals? You can see over 3000 of them at Canada’s largest zoo, covering over 300 species. The zoo is divided by geographical area, with Africa, The Americas, Canadian Domain, Australasia, Eurasia, Indo-Malaya, and the Tundra Trek all featured.
